A photograph showing an open book on a wooden table. The book shows a map of the 'Scythian Square'

One of the nice things about David Braund’s Greek Religion and Cults in the Black Sea Region: Goddesses in the Bosporan Kingdom from the Archaic Period to the Byzantine Era is that it mentioned Ellis H. Minns’s Scythians and Greeks: A Survey of Ancient History and Archaeology on the North Coast of the Euxine from the Danube to the Caucasus (Cambridge UP, 1913), which I accordingly requested as an inter-library loan (ILL). It just arrived today. You will forgive me, I am sure, for disappearing for a while to explore the Scythian Square and the other treasures this thick volume contains.
